没错, IB可以涵盖了幼儿园到高中。

SAT是一种标准化测试，IB是一种课程体系。SAT与何种课程没有直接的联系。美国大多数大学（但不是所有大学）入学需要SAT或ACT。另外，对于国际生，各个大学的要求也不尽相同。

IB被很多美国大学特别是一些名校认可如哈佛，Stanford等。在美国目前有1千多所学校采用IB课程。IB课程与其他美国学校的课程还是有较大不同的，尽管美国不同州，公校与私校，不同学校间课程也可能有很大差异。通常认为IB课程挑战性更大。下面分别列出IB以及美国非IB基本课程框架供参考
The following minimum courses of study in mandatory subjects are required in nearly all U.S. high schools:
Science，Mathematics，English， Social sciences & Physical education
Common types of electives include:
Computers，Athletics ，Career and Technical Education，Performing Arts/Visual Arts,  Foreign languages  Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps
另外很读学校提供AP，以及针对Gifted students的教育

IB
To be awarded an IB Diploma, a candidate must fulfill three core requirements, in addition to passing his or her subject examinations:
1) Extended essay (EE). 2) Theory of knowledge (TOK). and 3) Creativity, action, service (CAS).
The six IBDP subject groups:
•Group 1: Language A1. this is generally the student's native language.
•Group 2: Second language.
•Group 3: Individuals and societies.
•Group 4: Experimental sciences. Four courses are offered: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Design Technology, while the subjects Environmental Systems and Societies and Sport, Exercise and Health science are offered at SL only.
•Group 5: Mathematics and computer science.
•Group 6: The arts. Courses offered : Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Film
Environmental systems and societies SL is a transdisciplinary course designed to meet the diploma requirements for groups 3 and 4..

我认为可以读任何想读的西方或者国际学校的小学课程，不一定要读PYP，MYP，都可以和最后两年的IB接轨。IB的精华实际就是高中最后两年。

PYP也是极好的课程。至少在中国，还没有什么小学课程设计可与之相比。
