Tea or coffee, usually hot stuff, use cup. Cold drink, (water, milk, soda), use glass.  But for measuring when cooking and baking, a cup of milk, or a cup of water, is also used..

when there's no other things mentioned particularly, usually use cup for tea/coffee & glass for water/milk/soda/cola/juice, etc?
