Task: to write a description of two scenes, decribing what the park is like and the way the park changes from winter to summer. Think about the sights, sounds and smells that make it special in each season

In wintertime：
It's now winter in my favourite park. The paths and nice green lands had been all covered in lots of layers of white snow. All the tall and green trees is now bare with no leaves and the branches are all drooping down.  The lake has frozen and the sky has darkened. The birds are all flying away as well. I can smell a deep deep smell of coldness and a little smell of winter flowers blooming. The sounds of little children screaming and laughing can be clearly heard. The sound of teenagers jogging and joking can be well heard too! Even if the season is cold , but it certainly can't bring our spirits down!
In summertime:
The sound of birds chirping and smell of flowers blooming tells everyone summer is here! The lake that had been frozen in winter had unfroze again. The bare trees are full of green leaves again! Everyone was filled with joy and laughter. The paths, the grass and little hedges were all green and yellow. It was really beautiful! A butterfly flew in the flowerbeds that smelled wonderful, and the ducks on the lake quacked and had a little swim. The sun was burning brightly above all. We felt hot and really happy!

我们小时候用过很多书，也不是每本都用全的，每本挑选一部分。
英国有一个NCPTA （National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations)，这个PTA 出了 Hodder Home Learning 的系列书，针对3-11岁孩子，是根据英国的教学大纲让家长在家辅导的，有Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation, Reading and Writing, Maths, Mental Maths等等。介绍说所有的内容都是非常有经验的老师编写。最主要的，还有答案！否则家长看了也会很晕的。
我是很早在澳洲买的。如果出国去书店的话，这些类似我们的教辅书，书店里都有的。有一些专门针对某一年龄的写作提高书，实用性很强。不过，作为非母语家长，自己要先花点时间研究一下。.

外面又有多少孩子的英语是完全按教纲学的？很小就学完SBS或者新概念的孩子也很多的，但也很少有人能写好作文。原因在于阅读量和针对性的写作学习不够，当然这不是孩子的问题，还是会教阅读写作的老师太少太少。

其实不需要告诉人家你家几口人，做什么工作。可以写的东西是很多的。.

要求：描写一个故事地点，并同时制造一个疑问。
Coral reef
One windy day, little Viking was sailing in her Viking long ship when suddenly a shark made a hole in her ship. Her ship sunk and she was in the middle of the coral reef!
She tripped over a sharp rock. She felt cold and wet. As she was looking around she spotted a giant crowd of fish. Suddenly a crowd of sharks swam around little Viking. She felt as scared as a shark about to gobble her up! And...What do you think happened to little Viking?.

大人写的不一样，一看就是大人写的。下次找到有小孩写的再告知。.

作文练习书外文书店去看看，应该有的。
说是绝对不会影响的，如果绘本以后自然过渡到章回书，说也会非常好的。当然这很考验孩子的领悟能力，有的孩子看完一本有趣的章回书，会迫不及待地和别人分享，等于把书里的内容大概说一遍。多说了就好了。还有，能用英文思维写的人说都很好的，因为说和写要好，都不能用中文摆渡。
从我女儿的情况来看，三四年级就很会说了，之前她也就是看书看动画而已。小孩子记忆力好，动画片看几遍都记住了。睡觉前躺在床上每天要自言自语很多英文，我听都是动画里的。有好的资源，让孩子喜欢英语，就能学好。.

英语作文的参考书，原版的，和我们中国不一样。没有一本是绝对权威的或者大家人人都去用的书。国外的出版社就是百花齐放，有无数这样的书，这样的资料。可能每个老师，每个孩子都在用不同的书。所以去外文书店挑选总有一本合适的。.

这些小学生的写作，并不是毫无缺点的范文。也不一定是优秀作文，但是至少运用了英文思维，句子通顺，达到要求。
有一些是考试时直接看题写的。没有准备，没有背诵，比较真实的水平供各位参考。
小学生写的东西我手上不多，大家将就看看。因为我的孩子大所以更注重收集和看一些中学生的东西。.

我们起步比你们晚，是一年级下才开始看第一本原版书的。但是我们进步确实快，三年级可以独立看达尔的章回书并且可以把整本书有声有色地讲出来。在独立看章回之前，我只读过一本100多页的绿野仙踪给她听。这本读完我自己觉得太累，她也不满足听，就开始看了。刚开始看时，我也高估她水平，买了一些Jacqueline Wilson写的比较难的，看一两页她就说太难看不懂，扔在书柜里。后来一年不到就完全看懂了，连非简写的秘密花园，雾都孤儿都看懂了。我经常不相信，也要考她。做了澳洲5年级6年级的阅读理解两大本练习，每天做2篇，几乎每天全对。很难的，不看答案我也吃不准的。
这个过程其实和阅读习惯有关。所以你家的习惯好，以后一定行的。书的话不用太远，香港比较全的。

历史：我们只读英国的大事件再加点古埃及罗马，Plague，The great fire, Titanic这些
科学：挑自己感兴趣的，Life Circle, Human Body，Sea World...
地理：小时候每天一起看，我也喜欢地理书，最简单的就是买有图的Children's Atlas，把整个世界都用孩子能看得懂的话写进去了。
杂书：漫画，吉尼斯，运动员的，笑话，诗歌，谜语这种不用很多，但也有好处。

一开始写就是选比较好的故事书，会读读懂了以后，再重新让孩子写一遍，可以用书里的话，也可以用自己想到的话。就像写 Book Review 一样。
或者不要全篇写，可以针对一些问题让他写，Why 和 How 的问题。如果你让他想写哪一句就哪一句的话，他会是挑最简单的写，这样进步很慢的。如果你照这个方法让孩子写50篇以上的Book Review，用一年的时间，肯定有进步。其实很少的，只有每周一篇。

在孩子读书时，不要打断，不要急于纠正，不要说中文解释。等读完了先表扬，再和他说你已经接近完美，如果这些词能读对就完美了。

不要老是指着词问孩子：这是什么意思？要让他们在流利的过程中意会。

看动画片不用停下来每句重说一遍，就让他听着，看着，不要中文字幕，能够看下来的说明懂了很多了。太难的先放一放。毕竟动画片不能作为主要的英语学习，是孩子有一定阅读量后增加听力和语感的手段之一而已。

写最最简单的Book Review

Review: This is a story about a strange dog-streaker is a rocket on four legs with a woof attached. And Trevor has got until the end of the holiday to train her. If he fails he will lose 30 pounds and go into the frogspawn bath. Yuk! But at last, he and his friend Tina DID train her though it's hard. This is the funniest book I've read but it also got adventures. It's fantastic!.

能够这样写，应该他都能看懂了。Harry Potter不是很难的书，只不过看上去厚，里面有点Made Words.
如果孩子喜欢自己天马行空地写也没什么不好，至少他对写的兴趣很大，随着阅读难度的增加，他也会自然地提高。像他这样只要坚持下去，不会有中式英语的困扰。因为英文思维形成后也不会消失的。反之，中文思维形成也很难板回来。
而我说的一些写作，不同题材的写作，是要有人引导的。如果只是将一些题目，写作要求等扔给孩子让他写，肯定他也不愿意，也提高不了。所以我说：如果没有老师引导，那么有了题目以后，需要家长先学习后讲解的，但一般家长确实无法弄。
每一种写作题材，都有写作要素。要把一些要素搞清楚（就像数学概念一样），最后里面写的内容是可以千变万化的。对于孩子来说一遍可能还不行，要不断强调，练习。

如果我们要将写文章和口语化地写作分开，那就是比较高的要求。也就是说，一篇文章中能说清楚一件事，但是否说到细节，描写到位，用词精确，引人入胜。英语也有很多的修辞手法的。在挑选英语原版书的时候，特别要注意适当地加入古典和现代文学作品，名家作品，而不是仅仅看消遣的小说。名著都有适合小孩子看的版本的，很多都改编得十分优秀。.

这本我觉得你可以讲给他听，是给Young Reader的，但你家宝贝自己看还太难了点。但这本是好书，改写得比较好。

从一开始读书就可以写了，写得短一点没有关系。其实我们两年级时还没有看巧克力工厂这些，还在看过渡的书，到三年级一下子开窍的。你们已经很好了。
阅读理解做题目不是必须的。你们还小，不用多做题目。
我给孩子做题目是四年级时，为了知道她参加同龄母语孩子考试的话能在什么档次，基本上我们只做了两本就再也没有做过。我还是觉得把时间省下来读书，写作更能够提高。.

从简到难，Ramona确实比达尔的要容易，要慢慢来，保护阅读兴趣。每个小孩的过渡期肯定不一样的。.

好像没有便宜的，到很多地方看过，都是那么贵。。.

小实验记录——三年级

A ball of plasticine will sink in water but HOW can we change a sinking object into a FLOATING one?
First, you need to make the ball plasticine into a boat-shaped one. The bottom should be thin. A boat-shaped plasticine is more lighter than a ball one.
Surely it is going to float. But if you put it on the water very hard, it can't be floating. Gently and carefully, try to let it go on the water as slow as possible. It's floating! Wow! How wonderful！.
