若考虑学中文, 绝对是当地学校好.在国际学校, 尽管每天有中文课, 实际效果并不
是很理想. 华裔孩子校内校外在一起时说的还是英文.平时孩子自己阅读时也只爱读
英文书因英文容易.

只是论到回居住国时的过渡, 还是国际学校容易. 国际学校或国外学校教的未必真
的简单.它们的特点是:面广, 大循环, 多层次, 让每个小孩都感到challenged. 比
如一年级已学余数,接触分数;二年级已接触mean, median and mode 这些简单的统
计学概念.  能力强的孩子不会bored;学得慢一点的又会在循环反复中慢慢pick up.

小学与初中, 选英国国际学校或美国国际学校差别不大.但到高中, 想回美上大学的
最好还是上美国国际学校, 因为接轨的关系.在美国国际学校, AP课程也和 美国当
地高中一样算大学学分.

感觉国际学校或国外学校更注重能力, 而学校更侧重知识性. 一管之见..

曾遇到一个香港来的妈妈特地因此把儿子从英国国际学校转到Concordia. 上下来感觉不错.

进才的国际班也许是有类似的逻辑.  择校最好还是与学校预约, 实地看看.

我想在大多数妈妈的眼里，进才和英国国际比起来的优势在于地段热闹点，价格便宜点，中文多了点！其他的我还真想不出为何要从英国国际送到进才啊！

When that香港来的妈妈把儿子从英国国际学校转到Concordia International, she didn't save anything in terms of tuition (The tuitiion in all international schools is about the same).  She told me that her son had more opportunities in making friends.  She liked that part the best.

Just trying to discuss the ideas of those school programs...I guess what each kid needs matters the most.

如果小孩发展全面, 又有好的性格和品德, 家长真省心.  不过有些小孩确实有特殊
需要.  我有一个搞Special Education的老美朋友, 一回闲聊时,我向她诉儿子的"劣
行". 她听了反而大笑, 笑够了, 还幽幽地说有些父母希望孩子调皮一些, 可是孩子
却永远皮不起来.  弄得我心里也酸溜溜的, 感觉自己真是被blessed.  她的职业使
她见的有特殊需要的小孩多了. 她当时正在帮助的小孩中就有自闭症的.

各种各样的学校, 就象商场里繁多的商品, 可以满足不同的需要.   我没想向大家
特别推荐协和国际学校或进才学校班 (我自己的小孩也不在那两个地方).  纯粹是
探究办学逻辑. 如果办学方针不对, 生源会有问题, 学校想必会改弦更张.

那些soft skills (包括leadership and team work/player), 其实挺重要的. 在职
场上, 我被人面试过, 也面试过人, 知道仅学富五车是不够的, leadership and team
work/player 在 competency中占很大的比重. 美国的长青藤大学也看重soft skills.
实际上, 老外挺注重小孩这方面发展的. 儿子从前去的一所私校(当时去私校也是不得
已.先前去的Daycare, 有个小孩太凶蛮,还爱讲Fxxx words. 儿子被咬两次. 先生与
我都是打工仔, 也只好勒紧裤带, 从安全计,送私校了), 从三岁班升四岁班时,我们
就发现四岁班有很多"留级"生. 五岁班是Kindergarten, 算"上学"了.那些孩子留级
是因家长想让小孩晚上学.  这么做, 单眼前的学费就多出一万多美元.

中文难码, 有时偷懒, 想象古人学"言简意赅", 未想功夫不到, 一不留神会变成
"词不达意". 如果引起误解, 请原谅..
